{251}: Then with Allah Glory to Him in the highest’s will they defeated them all. David, [who was within Saul’s troops,] killed Goliath, and Allah Glory to Him in the highest gave him control and wisdom, and taught him what he wished.

If Allah Glory to Him in the highest did not defend some men by means of others, the [whole] earth would be ruined; but Allah Glory to Him in the highest is Gracious to [the creatures of] the Universe.

{252}: (O Messenger,) these are the Signs of Allah Glory to Him in the highest that We are reciting to you in all Truth, for you are indeed one of (Our) messengers.

{253}: These [are the] messengers We preferred some of them to others. There are some among them Allah Glory to Him in the highest has spoken to, and there are some [whom] He has raised in rank. We gave Jesus, the son of Marry, Evident Miracles, and endorsed him by the means of the Holly Spirit. Yet if Allah Glory to Him in the highest had wished, those (generations) who came after them would not have killed one another after the explanation had come to them; however, they disagreed. Some of them believed while others disbelieved. If Allah Glory to Him in the highest so desired they would have not fought with one another, but Allah Glory to Him in the highest fulfills what He desires.

{254}: O you the believers! Spend out [in charities] some of what We have bestowed you before the Day arrives in which there will be no dealing, friendship, no any intercession! And [remember that, it is] the disbelievers [who] are the wrongdoers.

{255}: Allah Glory to Him in the highest! There is no deity except He, the Eternal Alive – neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. Whatever in the heavens and whatever on the earth exists belongs to Him. Who dares to intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what lies before and what lies behind them, while they embrace nothing of His knowledge except what He desires. The Throne of His [Knowledge and Privilege] expands all over the heavens and the earth; preserving them does not overburden Him – for He is the Supreme Most-high.

{256}: There is no compulsion in religion, [for] the Truth stands out clearly from falsehood; so whoever rejects Satan and believes in Allah Glory to Him in the highest has grasped the firmest handle, which will never break apart – for Allah Glory to Him in the highest is the Knowing Hearer.

{257}: Allah Glory to Him in the highest is the Guardian of the believers, and He leads them out of darkness into light. However, the disbelievers have the devil-natured (custodian) who will lead them out of Light into [deep] darkness, and they are the inmates of Fire, and will remain therein [forever].

{258}: (O Prophet,) have you not heard [the story of] that (Nimrod) who [boasted and] argued with Abraham about his Creator -Nurturer Lord Who had granted him such leadership? When Abraham said: “My Creator -Nurturer Lord is One Who gives life and sends death”; he replied, “I also give life and then take it away.” Abraham said, “Allah Glory to Him in the highest brings the sun [out] from the East, so you bring it from the West.” [To his answer] the unbeliever was dumbfounded. Therefore, Allah Glory to Him in the highest does not guide the wrongdoers.

{259}: Or similar to [the story of] the man who was passing by a town whose roofs had been ruined down to the ground. He thought, “How will Allah Glory to Him in the highest revive (the people) of this town after their death?” [Right then] Allah Glory to Him in the highest sent him to death for a hundred years and later raised him up again.

He asked [him], “How long have you remained [deceased]?” He answered, “I have been remained so for a day or part of it.” He stated: “It is not so. You have just remained in such state for a hundred years. Now, look at your food and drink, they have not yet become stale, and look at your donkey! Therefore, We will make [your story] as a sign for mankind. Now notice how We set the bones together, then cover them with [some layer of] flesh.”

When he learnt the fact, he said: “Now, I know that Allah Glory to Him in the highest is Omnipotent [and Capable of doing all things]!”

{260}: And [remember] when Abraham said: “O my Creator -Nurturer Lord! Show me how You revive the dead,” He Stated, “Why! Do you not believe?” He answered: “Of course [I do,] but I want just reassure my heart.” He Stated, “Take four [kinds of] birds and after training them to [follow] you, [kill and] cut them into pieces, [mix them up,] then place each part of them on a certain mountain. Next call them [to you] and [you will see that] they will come to you at once – thus, know that Allah Glory to Him in the highest is the Wise All-mighty.”

{261}: The similarity of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah Glory to Him in the highest is compared to a grain that sprouts into seven ears bearing a hundred grains in each one. Therefore, Allah Glory to Him in the highest increases [His bounties] for anyone He wants – for Allah Glory to Him in the highest is the Knowing Bounteous.

{262}: Those who spend their wealth for the sake of Allah Glory to Him in the highest then do not follow up what they have spent with any reproach or scolding, their reward lies with their Creator -Nurturer Lord [and no one, but Allah knows its amount] – and they will have no fear, nor will they grieve.

{263}: Polite conversation [with the needy] and forgiving [their faults] are better than an act of charity followed by scolding. Allah Glory to Him in the highest is Forbearing Free from needs.

{264}: O you who believe! Do not frustrate in vain the act of your charity by reproaching or scolding like someone who spends his money simply to be noticed by people, yet he does not believe in Allah Glory to Him in the highest and the Last Day. Thus, he is similar to a hard rock covered with some soil and a rainstorm strikes and leaves it exposed. They cannot benefit from what they have earned, since Allah Glory to Him in the highest does not guide such disbelievers.

{265}: But the similarity of those who donate [out of] their wealth to get the pleasure of Allah Glory to Him in the highest is compared to a garden on a hilltop. Heavy rain falls on it and its produce is doubled, even if heavy rain does not fall on it, (at least) drizzle does; for Allah Glory to Him in the highest is seeing what you do.

{266}: Would anyone among you like to have a garden full of palms and grapes, [watered with the] rivers flowing through the lower parts of it? Then it produces [all sorts of] fruits in it, yet old age afflicts him while he still has some helpless offspring, and a windstorm containing fire strikes it, so that it is all burnt off! Thus, Allah Glory to Him in the highest makes His Signs clear to you so that you think it over.

{267}: O you who believe! Give away in charity some of what good and pure things you have earned, and whatever We have produced for you from the earth; but never give the poorest part [of the things] that you yourselves would not take them – or you would disregard them – and know that Allah Glory to Him in the highest is the Praiseworthy All-sufficient.

{268}: [Any time you are to donate,] Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you [to be envious and] commit sins, while Allah Glory to Him in the highest promises you of His Forgiveness and Bounty. Because Allah Glory to Him in the highest is the Knowing Bounteous.

{269}: He gives wisdom to anyone He desires, and anyone who is given wisdom receives an abundant boon, yet no one but the sensible (ones) take advice from it.

{270}: And whatever you spend in charity, or any vow you make Allah Glory to Him in the highest knows [but by rejecting the main points of charities,] the wrongdoers will have no supporters.

{271}: If you spread out the act of charity, it is all right; but if you conceal it and give [directly] to the poor, it will be even better for you, and will lessen some of your evil deeds for you. Yet [know that] Allah Glory to Him in the highest is well aware of what you do.

{272}: (O Prophet,) their guidance is not your responsibility, but Allah Glory to Him in the highest guides (anyone) He desires. And whatever [money or good things] you spend is for your own good, but do not spend it save to satisfy Allah Glory to Him in the highest; because any money you spend will be repaid to you in full and you will not be oppressed.

{273}: (The donations are) specified for those poor who are very absorbed in [doing things] in the way of Allah Glory to Him in the highest and they cannot manage to travel [freely] around the earth [to work or trade to earn a living].

Because of their modesty, an unwise person might assume that they are rich; yet you will recognize them from their features: they do not make insistent demands on people. Thus, whatever you give in charity, for sure Allah Glory to Him in the highest knows it.

{274}: Those who give their wealth [in charities] by night and day – privately or publicly – will receive their rewards from their Creator -Nurturer Lord. There will be no fear on them [on the Day of Resurrection] nor will they grieve [on that Day].

{275}: The ones who swallow usury will not rise [on the Day of Resurrection] except like those whom Satan has demented by his touch. That is because they say: “Trading is just like taking interest,” yet Allah Glory to Him in the highest has permitted trading but forbidden usury. Anyone who receives an admonition from his Creator -Nurturer Lord and stops [swallowing usury,] he keeps his previous gains, for it is a thing of the past, and his case rests with Allah Glory to Him in the highest. [On the other hand] those who keep on doing so are the inmates of Fire and will abide therein [forever].

{276}: Allah Glory to Him in the highest brings usury to naught, but increases blessing in the act of charity; Allah Glory to Him in the highest does not like any ungrateful disbelievers.

{277}: In fact, those who believe, and do good and decent deeds and keep up prayer, also pay the due welfare tax will receive their rewards from their Creator -Nurturer Lord; there will be no fear on them nor will they grieve.

{278}: O you who believe! Be heedful of [the chastisement of] Allah Glory to Him in the highest, and if you are [really] believers, leave off whatever remains from lending at interest;

{279}: but if you do not do so, then beware that you have involved yourselves in a war with Allah Glory to Him in the highest and His Messenger Peace be upon him! Yet if you repent, you will retain the capital of yours – [thus,] neither have you dealt unjustly with [the others,] nor you will be dealt unjustly.

{280}: Yet if (a debtor) faces hardship, give him a chance until the condition becomes easier [for him]; but [if he is unable to pay it back] it will be better for you to forgive [and forget] it.

{281}: And guard yourselves against the [chastisement of the] Day when you will be brought back to Allah Glory to Him in the highest Then everyone will be paid for whatever he has done, they will not be treated unjustly.

{282}: O you who believe! When you contract a debt [or deal on credit] for a fixed period write it down.

There must be a writer between you to write [the fact] properly – and never should a literate person refuse to write it down.

Just as Allah Glory to Him in the highest has taught him, he should write it, and let the debtor dictate. He should be heedful of Allah Glory to Him in the highest and not omit any part of it.

If the debtor is an ignorant or feeble-minded person, or cannot manage to dictate himself, then his guardian should do it [for him] in all fairness.

There should be invited two witnesses from among your men to act as witnesses. If there are not two men [present,] then [look for] a man and two women as witnesses you may approve of, so that if any of them forgets it, then the other one reminds the next.

Witnesses might not refuse [witnessing] it when they are asked for, and do not fail to put everything in writing – whether it is small or large, along with its due date.

Anytime you are trading, call in witnesses and do not let a literate man or any witness be obliged. If you do so; that would be unjust on your part.

Thus, be heedful of Allah Glory to Him in the highest [that is] Allah Glory to Him in the highest Who teaches you, and Allah Glory to Him in the highest has full knowledge of everything.

{283}: And if you were on a journey and could not find a writer [to do the job] then a pledge must be taken. If one of you entrusts another (one) with a pledge, let the trustee restore the pledge to its owner and let him be heedful of Allah Glory to Him in the highest, his Creator -Nurturer Lord – and do not conceal the testimony. Anyone who conceals it [then he] owns a rough heart, and Allah Glory to Him in the highest is well Aware of what you do.

{284}: Whatever in the heavens and whatever on the earth exists belongs to Allah Glory to Him in the highest and whatever you disclose or whatever goes on in your mind, or you hide it, Allah Glory to Him in the highest will bring you to account for that. He forgives anyone He desires and punishes anyone He wants. Allah Glory to Him in the highest is Capable of [doing] everything.

{285}: Messenger [of Allah Peace be upon him] has faith in what has been sent down to him from his Creator -Nurturer Lord, and so do the believers, all of them believe in Allah Glory to Him in the highest and His angels, His Books and His messengers, [and they say]: “We do not differentiate between any of His messengers.” Moreover, they say: “Our Creator -Nurturer Lord! We heard and [now] we obey, O Creator -Nurturer Lord! We beg Your pardon – for toward You is (our) return!”

{286}: Allah Glory to Him in the highest does not put a task on a person beyond his ability to cope with. Every man gets a reward for what [good deeds] he has done, while he is debited with what [evil deeds] he has brought on himself. Thus, [the believers pray]:

“Our Creator -Nurturer Lord, do not be angry with us if we have forgotten [any of Your Commands] or slipped up! Our Creator -Nurturer Lord, do not try any obligation upon us such as those You placed [upon those] before us. Our Creator -Nurturer Lord, do not overburden us with more than what we can cope with! Pardon us, forgive us and show us Mercy! You are our Guardian, so give us victory over the disbelievers.”
