{51}: And [remember] when We appointed forty nights [and days] for Moses [to receive Our Commandments then] you took the Calf [to worship in his absence] for you were the wrongdoers.

{52}: However, We forgave you so that you might be grateful [and worship your Sole Creator alone].

{53}: And We gave Moses the Scripture and the Standard so that you might be guided [by that].

{54}: And [remember] when Moses said to his people: “O my people, you have indeed wronged yourselves by adopting the Calf [to worship,] so turn towards your Creator in repentance and kill [the vicious souls of] yourselves; that will be better for you with your Creator. [By doing so,] He will accept your remorse, for He is the Gracious Remorse-Accepter.”

{55}: And [remember] when [a certain group of] you said: “O Moses! We will not believe in you [r words] until we plainly see Allah Glory to Him in the highest [thus,] you were caught by a [fatal] thunderbolt while you were looking on.

{56}: Then, after the death [of your vicious souls,] We enlivened you so that you might [come to your senses and] be grateful.

{57}: And We made the clouds shade over you, and sent down manna and quail for you. “Eat,” [We meant, “eat] some of good things We have provided for you;” [but by their ingratitude] they did not wrong Us, but wronged themselves!

{58}: And [remember when] We Commanded: “Enter this township, (Jerusalem), and enjoy eating of [its affluence] with pleasure at your leisure. Enter the gate humbly [and as an apology offering to Allah] say: hit’tætun, [that is], ‘Please forgive us,’ so that We forgive your sins; for We improve [the rewards of] the virtuous.

{59}: But the wrongdoers [disobeyed Allah’s Command, and] changed the account to something else than what had been told them, and We [too] sent down plague from the heaven on those who transgressed [against Our Command].

{60}: And when Moses searched for water for his people to drink, We Commanded: “Strike that rock [near you] with your staff,” [he did so] then twelve springs gushed out from it. Each [tribe among] people got to know its drinking spot. [We Commanded them]: “Eat and drink from Allah’s provision, but do not cause corruption on the earth.”

{61}: And [remember when] you said: “O Moses, we cannot bear [just] one [kind of] food, so call on your Creator -Nurturer Lord to give us of what grows on the earth, such as: vegetables and cucumbers, and also lentils, garlic and onions;” He answered, “Do you want to replace something superior for something inferior? [Now, if you wish so, you can leave this place and] settle down in a town and get what you desire of.”

Therefore, humiliation and poverty beat them and they earned the wrath of Allah Glory to Him in the highest. That was because they had disbelieved in the Signs of Allah and unjustly killed the prophets (of Him); that was all because they disobeyed and exceeded their limit!

{62}: In fact, those who believe, as well as the Jews, the Christians, and the Sabaeans, [that is] all who believe in Allah Glory to Him in the highest and the Day of Judgment, and do good and decent deeds, will find their rewards with their Creator -Nurturer Lord. There will be no fear for them nor will they grieve.

{63}: And [remember when] We took your covenant [to act according to the Torah,] and raised the M. Sinai above you* [stating]: “Take the Book We have granted you seriously – learn it and act its teaching and remember what it contains, so that you may become heedful of Him.

.”

{64}: Then after that [covenant] you turned away [from praying Allah]! Had it not been for the Goodwill and Grace of Allah Glory to Him in the highest on you, for sure you would have been of the losers.

{65}: And you have indeed heard of [the situation of] those among your [predecessors] who had been defiant the Sabbath, so We Commanded them: “Be you apes,” – [they were changed into despised apes at once]!

{66}: So We set up that [event] as an exemplary [punishment] for those present, and the   succeeding generations – and also an admonition for the pious.

{67}: And [remember] when Moses told his people [who had killed a man but the murderer was unknown to them]: “Allah Glory to Him in the highest Commands you to slaughter a cow,” they said: “Do you take us for a fool? [We ask you, ‘Who has killed a certain man but you direct us to kill a cow!’]” He replied: “I take refuge to Allah Glory to Him in the highest lest I become a blockhead!”

{68}: They said: “Ask your Creator -Nurturer Lord on our behalf to explain to us of its quality.” He said: “He States ‘it is a heifer that is neither an old cow nor a younger one, but something between’ – so do what you have been Commanded to.”

{69}: They said: “Call on your Creator -Nurturer Lord to explain to us of its colour,” he replied: “He States, ‘It is a bright yellow cow.’ Its colour delights the viewers.”

……………………………………

* To give them alarm of its falling

{70}: They said: “Call on your Creator -Nurturer Lord to make it clear for us what kind (of a cow) it is; [since we are confused of its quality] then, by Allah’s will, we will surely be guided [to find that certain cow].”

{71}: He said: “He States, ‘It is a cow that has not been trained to plow the earth, nor to irrigate any crops; it is sound with no blemish on the body’.” They said: “Now you have brought the Truth!” Thus, they slaughtered it, though they were nearly not to do so.

{72}: And [remember] when you killed a man and fell into a dispute among yourselves [putting the blame on the next party,] but Allah Glory to Him in the highest sent down what you were hiding.

{73}: So [through Moses] We Commanded: “Strike the dead man with a piece of that [slaughtered cow so that to become alive and introduce the killer].” Thus Allah Glory to Him in the highest revives the dead [on the Day of Resurrection,] and shows you His Miracles so that you may reason it out.

{74}: Then, after that [Miracle] your hearts hardened such as stones, or even harder; for indeed there are some stones from which rivers gush out, and there are some of them that split and water comes forth from them, and indeed there are still others that fall down [the mountains] for the fear of Allah Glory to Him in the highest. Therefore, Allah is not heedless of what you do!

{75}: (O believers,) do you expect [the Jews] should believe you and accept [your rightfulness] whereas a party of them used to hear the Word (s) of Allah Glory to Him in the highest, then after realizing it, they would distort it on purpose!

{76}: And when they meet the believers, they say: “We [also] believe,” but when they gather in their own privacy, they say to one another, “Why do you tell them of what Allah Glory to Him in the highest has sent down to you [about the characteristics of the Prophet in Torah? Because] they may dispute with you about it in the presence of your Creator -Nurturer Lord – so do you not reason it out?”
