The Glorious Qur’an Chapter 2 The Cow (Al-Baqarah) in 286 verses
{75}: (O believers,) do you expect [the Jews] should believe you and accept [your rightfulness] whereas a party of them used to hear the Word (s) of Allah Glory to Him in the highest, then after realizing it, they would distort it on purpose! {76}: And when they meet the believers, they say: “We [also] believe,” but when they gather in their own privacy, they say to one another, “Why do you tell them of what Allah Glory to Him in the highest has sent down to you [about the characteristics of the Prophet in Torah? Because] they may dispute with you about it in the presence of your Creator -Nurturer Lord – so do you not reason it out?”
{77}: Do they not know that Allah Glory to Him in the highest knows what they keep secret or what they reveal?
{78}: And some of them are common illiterate people who do not know the Book, (Torah), except for holding to their own desire, thus they receive merely guessing!
{79}: So woe to those who write the [misinterpreted] book with their hands, then they say (to others): “This is from Allah Glory to Him in the highest,” in order to sell it for the pettiest price; so woe to them what their hands have written down. Woe to them for what they achieve by that means!
{80}: And they say: “[No matter how sinners we are,] the Fire will not touch us except for a few numbered days.” Tell them (o Muhammad): “Have you been promised by Allah Glory to Him in the highest [that ‘the Fire will not touch you except for a few days]?’ Then Allah Glory to Him in the highest will never break His word; or you are saying something about Allah Glory to Him in the highest that you really do not realize it!”
{81}: For sure anyone who commits evil will find his own sins encircling him; they will become the guilty inmates of the Fire – they will remain in it [forever].
{82}: But those who have believed and done good and decent deeds will be the inhabitants of paradise; they will abide therein [forever].
{83}: And [remember] that covenant We took from the Children of Israel [stating]: “Do not worship anything but Allah Glory to Him in the highest and kindly treat your parents, your near relatives, and orphans and the needy; [and] speak gently to people, and keep up pray and pay the due welfare tax.” Then, [though you were advised,] except a few of you, you (all) turned away and were disgraceful!
{84}: And [remember] when We took your covenant [by stating]: “Do not shed the blood of your own people, nor drive your people out of their homes;” you pledged, and you testified.
{85}: Then after that [covenant] it is still you who are killing one another and driving a group of you from their homes, backing up one another against them out of sin and enmity. If they are brought to you as prisoners, you ransom them, although their expulsion was forbidden to you. Do you believe in part of the Book, (Torah), but disbelieve the rest. Then what is the retribution of you who behave so? It is not except disgrace during the life of this world, while on the Day of Resurrection they will be driven off to the severe punishment, for Allah Glory to Him in the highest is not heedless of what you do.
{86}: They are the ones who bought the life of this world for the Hereafter; so their punishment will not be lightened, nor will they be supported.
{87}: And [remember that] We gave Moses the Book, (Torah), and then followed him up with the messengers. We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear Signs and confirmed him with the Holy Spirit. Then why when a messenger brought you a thing against your desire, you grew so arrogant – calling some of them the liars and killing some others!
{88}: And [whenever their messenger invited them to accept his religion] they said: “Our hearts are masked,” [yet it is not so] Allah Glory to Him in the highest has cursed them for their disbelief, so few of them believe!
{89}: And when [this] Book came to them from Allah Glory to Him in the highest confirming what they already had, they denied it. Although earlier they had invoked Allah Glory to Him in the highest for [having a messenger] in order to get victory over the pagans, then when they recognized what was sent down to them they disbelieved in it. So let the curse of Allah Glory to Him in the highest be on the faith-rejecters.
{90}: Evil is that they have sold their souls for, by disbelieving in what Allah Glory to Him in the highest has sent down, envying that Allah Glory to Him in the highest has sent down some of His bounty on any of His worshippers He may desire. Thus they earned anger upon anger and there waits a disgracing punishment for the disbelievers.
{91}: And when they are told: “Believe in what Allah Glory to Him in the highest has sent down,” they say: “We just believe in what has already sent down [to our messenger, Moses,]” while they disbelieve in what has come after – even though it is the Truth confirming what they already have. (O Muhammad,) ask them, “If you are really believers [and telling the truth,] then why did you previously kill the messengers of Allah Glory to Him in the highest!”
{92}: Of course Moses brought you clear evidence, [but after his going to the Mont Sinai,] you chose the Calf [to worship] in his absence and became wrongdoers!”
{93}: And [remember] when We took your covenant [to listen to Moses’ admonition and pray Allah,] and raised the Mountain up over you [commanding]: “Be serious about what We have granted you and just listen!” They said: “We listened," but [meant,] "We disobeyed!” Because of their disbelief, they planted [the affection of] the Calf into their hearts! (O Prophet,) say: “Evil is that your faith commands you, if you [think you] are believers!”
{94}: (O Prophet,) tell [them]: “If [you believe that the dwelling in] the Hereafter with Allah Glory to Him in the highest is exclusively yours, but not for others, then wish for your death if you are so truthful!”
{95}: But, because of what their hands have prepared and sent [prior to their death,] they will not desire so – Allah Glory to Him in the highest knows best [the plans of] the wrongdoers.
{96}: But you will find them the most eager to live [in this world,] even eager than the pagans who do not believe in the Day of Resurrection. Each of them would like to live for a thousand years! Yet, if they are given such [long] life, it will never save any of them from the [appointed] punishment – and Allah Glory to Him in the highest is seeing what you do.
{97}: (O Prophet,) declare: “Anyone who is Gabriel’s enemy, [he is indeed Allah’s enemy because] he has brought this (Qur’an) down to your heart by the permission of Allah Glory to Him in the highest so that to confirm what was sent down before that, and it is a guidance and good news for the believers.
{98}: Anyone who is the enemy of Allah Glory to Him in the highest, and His angels, and Messenger Peace be upon him, and also Gabriel, and Michael, [let him know that Allah is his other side, because] Allah Glory to Him in the highest is the enemy of the disbelievers.
{99}: And We have certainly sent down clear and explicit Signs to you, but no one except the transgressors disbelieve in them.
{100}: [They are shaky in their belief and so are in their promise, so] is it not that when they make a covenant [with Allah] a group of them throw it aside? Nay, [the fact is that] most of them do not believe.
